As part of a wedding gift, I gave some friends use of my cottage, and they are using it this weekend. I made this card to welcome them for their stay.
Read MoreDo you have friends and family with a birthday in December? It can be easy to get wrapped up in holiday preparation and forget about other important events, but December babies deserve a great birthday card just like everyone else in our lives. Today’s card is to wish everyone having a birthday this month a very happy day!
Read MoreFall has arrived, but (thankfully!) we still have some beautiful summer-like days in store, at least where I am!! Fall inspires us with the beautiful coloured leaves, deeper hues in our clothing, and rich coloured decorations.
Read MoreWhat a wonderful, inspirational message - Be Strong, Be Happy, Be You. I have loved this stamp since I first saw it, and today I used it for a Clean and Simple card.
Read MoreAs a crafter of any type, we end up with left over bits, projects half done, and pieces we were going to use in a project, but changed things up and did not. In one of my posts I mentioned I had gathered up all those bits and pieces to make them into cards. While I did use some bits at my last Girls Get Away Weekend, I still have lots of goodies in my box, so I’m going to try to pull some out on a regular basis and make them into something!
Read MoreI have had fun making some #simplestamping cards with the retiring In Colours. Today my card combines my two favourite retiring In Colours, Lemon Lime Twist and Fresh Fig, along with one of my favourite fun stamp sets, This Little Piggy. I’m so happy that this stamp set will still be available when the new annual catalogue comes out. It makes great happy and fun cards.
Read MoreIf you follow my blog, you have seen that I am celebrating some of the soon to retire In Colours. Today I have another #simplestamping card for you in Lemon Lime Twist. This is one of my favourite In Colours, and I will be sad to see it go. The blow has been softened a little though, with the new Granny Apple Green that Stampin’ Up! introduced in last year in the colour refresh!
Read MoreHave you seen the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper on page 29 of the 2018 Holiday Catalogue? It is really pretty paper, and has copper foil accents on one side. And the best part . . . even though this is called Joyous Noel, and makes amazing Christmas cards, it’s not just for Christmas!!
Read MoreFall has definitely arrived where I live. The days are shorter, the nights are colder (and sometimes the days are cold too!), and there is a definite fall feel in the air. Fall can be a season of glorious colour as nature paints everything in new fall shades.
Read MoreThe Global Design Project has a new challenge - CASE (copy and selectively edit) the Designer. I wanted to use the Rooted in Nature stamp set, and emboss one of the trees to make a Christmas card.
Read MoreThere is a theme challenge for the Global Design Project this week, Fall In Love. I will admit Fall isn’t my favourite season, but I do love making fall themed and coloured cards.
Read MoreIf you have followed my blog for a while you know I love all the nature related stamps, paper and framelits we have at Stampin' Up! I find nature to be very calming, especially when we take time to slow down in our hectic lives and really see and appreciate the beauty around us. When I look at the card I made for today, I feel a sense of calm and tranquility and it always makes me happy.
Read MoreRooted in Nature was one of the first new stamp sets I started working with, and I love, love, love it! I also love one of the In Colours from last year, Lemon Lime Twist. Since Rooted in Nature has a number of tree and leaf images, it seemed very natural to use Lemon Lime Twist for some leaves for this card.
Read MoreI’m on a roll with the Rooted in Nature stamp set. I love to be out in nature in the warm weather, and cards made with this stamp set seem very fitting. Today I used the big tree trunk piece stamped with Early Espresso and fussy cut it for my card.
Read MoreThe Rooted in Nature stamp set has some amazing tree and leaf images. The beautiful tree in today’s card is one of those images, and this one conjures up thoughts of sitting under the shade of a big tree on a hot summer day, enjoying a cool drink. Given the hot weather we have had lately, I’m not surprised these are my thoughts!!
Read MoreI love spending time at the cottage in the summer, and as everyone knows, I love paper crafting!! I find making handmade cards is a great way to relax, and when you give someone a hand made card you share joy and love. What a perfect combination. I spend a lot of time at the cottage in the summer, as does my neighbour out back, so for Margo's birthday card I wanted to make a card that reflected the beauty that we enjoy all summer. Here is the card I made for her.
Read MoreDo you believe in love at first sight? If you are a crafter, you have probably fallen in love many times when you first saw a new craft product!! That was how I felt when I first saw the Nature's Poem Suite. The Rooted in Nature stamp set has some beautiful images of trees and leaves. The sentiment stamp Be Strong Be Happy Be You is one of my new favourites, and the coordinating Nature's Roots Framelits Dies make cutting and designing with these images super easy.
Read MoreIt is now officially summer, so it's time to relax!! It's a nice thought don't you think? I know the days can still be busy, as we head off to work or school, but the school year is almost over, and we are getting to the time where families take vacation. Even if you are planning a 'stay-cation' it is a nice time of year to relax and enjoy being outside. Let my card take you away for a little sit outside while you go through your day.
Read MoreThere are 2 types of cards. Those that are very free flowing, and those that have more structure, such as rows of stamping, or repeated elements. I enjoy making both types of cards, which is why I'm so happy that it is now even easier to make structured cards with repeated elements.
Read MoreAs most of you know, making cards is my first love when it comes to paper crafting. Sometimes though I spend my crafting time creating scrap book pages, and I love doing that as well. My albums are a mixture of Memories and More memory keeping pocket pages, and traditional scrap book pages. I love that I can mix both in one album depending on my mood.
For my project today I am sharing one of the traditional scrap book pages I made for the OnStage display board.
