At our Tips & Tricks event the other night we did some sponging and blending with ink, using sponges and Blending Brushes.

Peaceful Nativity - Sponging

I love the effect of sponging a background. It gives subtle shading with highlights and lowlights. I used sponging to create the background for this card.

Enjoy The Cottage

Friendly Thoughts

My card today is for the Fab Friday Challenge. It is a colour challenge, and I must say, when I saw the colours they gave us I was not sure about them! They certainly are not colours I would generally put together, but trusting the challenge I moved forward, and surprisingly it works!!

Sunshine on a Winter Day

The SUOC (Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge) has a great theme - Anything Winter! I decided to make a winter card without any snow, even though we have snow here. Instead, I decided to focus on a glorious sunny day that can make even the coldest temperatures seem a little warmer. The trees are bare, but the sunshine is wonderful.

Calm and Tranquil

If you have followed my blog for a while you know I love all the nature related stamps, paper and framelits we have at Stampin' Up! I find nature to be very calming, especially when we take time to slow down in our hectic lives and really see and appreciate the beauty around us. When I look at the card I made for today, I feel a sense of calm and tranquility and it always makes me happy.
