Simple Stamping and My Dilema

The Stampin’ Up! #simplestamping challenge this month is a Thank You card. How perfect is that? Since we just celebrated Thanksgiving in Canada, being thankful is on our minds, so making a card to share with someone seems like the right thing to do. Simple stamping is a great way to create a beautiful card quickly, and an opportuntiy to create some pretty Designer Paper for the background, as I did for this card.

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock, cut 5 1/4 x 4 inches. I used 3 stamps from the Free As A Bird stamp set, and stamped them randomly on my card stock with Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch and Blueberry Bushel ink. When I finished my stamping, it was so pretty I almost wanted to stop there and make that my whole card!

I continued on with my stamping, using the single bird stamp this time. I stamped him with Blueberry Bushel ink on Pineapple Punch cardstock, and punched it out with the 2 1/4” circle punch. I also punched 2 cirlces in Blueberry Bushel card stock to use as a frame for my bird.

My sentiment is from the Free As A Bird stamp set as well, also stamped in Blueberry Bushel on a Pineapple Punch card stock strip. I cut little banner ends on my strip, and mounted it on a piece of Blueberry Bushel card stock, punched with the Pretty Label punch. My card base is Grapefruit Grove.

Here is where I ran in to a dilema. I was ready to assemble my card, and as I was laying the bird and the sentiment pieces on the background, I couldn’t decide if I really did want to cover all the pretty background stamping. Without the bird on the card, I had a #supersimplestamping thank you card with pretty flowers. With the bird I had a #simplestamping thank you card with a pretty background. Here is a picture of the card with only the sentiment.

Either way, this card is #simplestamping and says thank you to each of you for following my blog. For those that live in Canada, it also says thank you for shopping with me in my online store. And thank you everyone for your comments, I love hearing from you!
