Celebrating Thanksgiving and the Beautiful Fall Colours
In Canada it is Thanksgiving weekend, and I am feeling thankful for the beautiful day yesterday, and the glorious world around me. I am at my cottage this weekend, and yesterday was one of the most beautiful fall days we have had this season. The trees are glorious colours, the sun was shining, it was warm, and I shared a lovely afternoon and evening with great friends, including a scrumptous dinner together. My card today celebrates the beauty of the season, and the glorious bounty nature provides.
I made this card for the SUOC challenge - Fall/Autumn, so I wanted to show the beauty that nature provides at this time of year.
I used the small and large leaf image dies from Colourful Seasons, and cut leaves in Mossy Meadow, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, and Merry Merlot.
I sponged the same colours on my background as well.
Once I had a bunch of leaves cut out, I arranged them on my sponged background in a loose circular pattern. Once I was happy with the look, I glued them down.
My sentiment is one of my favourites, from Beautiful You, stamped in Merry Merlot ink on Crushed Curry card stock, bordered with Mossy Meadow. I used it to create the centre of my fall wreath, mounting it with dimensionals for some extra ‘pop’. I put it all on a layer of Merry Merlot, with a Crushed Curry card base. I finished it off with a bow of Braided Linen Twine.
This weekend we give thanks for all we are blessed with. Take time to celebrate and be thankful.
