Butterfly Brilliance Collection
I may not be the biggest butterfly fan, but when I got the new Butterfly Brilliance Collection it was love at first sight! The whole collection is stunning.
This first thing I did, was pull out the dies, and cut the big set of butterflies. I figured the outline could create a template or mask for some future projects, and it was a great way to see the dies cuts in real life!
After I cut this, I had a number of pretty Very Vanilla butterflies, so I used them to create a textured background for my card.
I used one of the detailed image dies to cut a large butterfly from a piece of the gorgeous Designer Series Paper. I cut 2 of these butterflies, and layered them to look like it’s wings are fluttering. I used Bermuda Bay ink to stamp my sentiment right on one of the butterflies! I finished the card with Gold Pearl accents.
Next, it was time to play with the stamp. This set has one large stamp with six butterflies. As soon as I punched out the stamp, the extra pieces jumped at me as a great background. I love finding versatile ways to use our products, and these allow us to get even more from the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set than just butterflies. It’s great being able to use everything, even the ‘scraps’!! I mounted all the 'bits' on a block and made some backgrounds to show off my butterflies.
I used another piece of the Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper and cut the large detailed butterfly again. I added glue to only the body section of the butterfly, and left the wind loose to ‘flutter’.
The background on this card is stamped with Misty Moonlight ink, and the sentiment is from the Positive Thoughts stamp set. I finished it off with a Magenta Madness card base, and a Blushing Bride Metallic Ribbon knot to match the colours from the DSP.
This DSP is so pretty it is hard to choose which one to use, I will have to make lots of projects to use them all!
The third card for today has the same background as the above card, but this time I stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink. For this card I stamped a page of butterflies with Seaside Spray ink. I had my stamp on my stamparatus, so I could also stamp a second time with VersaMark ink, and add Clear Embossing Powder.
I ran the whole sheet through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, and that gave me lots of shiny butterflies to play with. My sentiment is from the Blossoms In Bloom stamp set, that I also used on my first card. I stamped this one with Blackberry Bliss ink on Seaside Spray cardstock and cut it with a die from the Tasteful Labels dies. I wrapped Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon around my card and tied it in a bos to finish things off.
The Butterfly Brilliance is a wonderful collection of beautiful products. There is so much to it, I have lots more to share, so watch for future posts with more ideas, techniques and inspiration.
