Butterfly Brilliance Collection - Part 2
I am continuing to showcase the Butterfly Brilliance Collection this week, and have some more cards to share with you.
This is such a gorgeous collection, and I’m have a ton of fun playing with it. The Butterfly Brilliance Bundle (stamp set and dies) will be available in the upcoming catalogue, but the Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper and the Natural Touch Specialty Paper shown in the picture above are only available during the Early Release Promotion, and only while supplies last. You will want to get some of these right away, the DSP is gorgeous!
It is a Seaside Spray day for today’s cards. Seaside Spray is one of the 2019 - 2021 In Colours, which means it will be going away at the end of April. A sad moment for me for sure, I love this colour.
On to the cards!
I started with the butterfly stamp on my Stamparatus again, and inked the whole stamp with Seaside Spray ink. Next I used a sponge, and sponged on some Rococo Rose ink. I stamped that on a piece of Basic White cardstock. I inked the stamp again in the same manner, but before I stamped, I spritzed it with a bit of water using a Stampin’ Spritzer.
The piece on the left was just ink, and the piece on the right is the one I spritzed. You can see that adding the water makes the images a little more subtle in their colouring, but both are lovely.
I die cut the butterflies to use on my card today.
I wanted to keep the first card fairly simple, but did want to add some background interest, so I used a dry Water Painter to splatter some Frost White Shimmer Paint on the card base.
My sentiment is stamped with Rococo Rose ink on Seaside Spray cardstock. Both the sentiment and frame are cut with the Layering Squares Dies. The sentiment is from the Ridiculously Awesome stamp set.
I used the same colours for my second card, but added a background mat that was embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder.
The sentiment on this card is from the Ride The Range stamp set, stamped on the card base with Seaside Spray ink. I added some of the pretty Opal Rounds to finish off the card.
For the third card, I was back to playing with spattering! This time I used a wet Water Painter, and lifted Seaside Spray ink off a clear block I had inked up.
This time I splattered on a background layer, rather than the card base. I love the subtle effect it creates.
I added three butterflies along the left side of my card, including one of the leftovers from my last post with the shiny Clear Embossing on it. My sentiment is another one from the Ride The Range stamp set, and cut with one of the Painted Labels Dies. Three Silver Metallic Pearls finish off the card.
Watch for more projects using the Butterfly Brilliance Collection in upcoming posts.
