Colour Me True Love
The True Love Designer Series Paper in the January to June Mini Catalogue is made for those of us who need a colouring escape from time to time! There are pretty black and white flower images on one side, and great black and white geometric patterns on the other.
This piece of DSP was one I coloured with Stampin’ Blends at my catalogue kick off. I find colouring very relaxing, although perhaps not quite as much when you are ‘on camera’ at your kick off event!! I also had pieces of cardstock in the colours I had used - Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Granny Apple Green and Mossy Meadow, on my table so we could chat about what colours I should use for the layers on my card. It was suggested that I use the all!
That would be a lot of layers, but I did want to use all the colours, so I cut the Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight in half for one of the layers.
The sentiment on my first card is from the Happy Thoughts stamp set, and punched with the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch, along with the sentiment frames. I added some Gold Twine from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack to accent my card.
I wanted to share a few colouring options for this paper, so the second card I created using the NEW Blending Brushes to add colour to my DSP.
I used the other half of my Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight layers on this card. The sentiment is from the Touch of Ink stamp set, mounted on a layer of 1 1/2 inch circles. I wrapped some Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim around my layers and tied it in a bow.
The third card was coloured with Watercolour Pencils, and blended with a Water Painter. You can colour very lightly, or quite heavy with these pencils, depending how intense you want your colour to be. I was fairly heavy handed with my pencils, so the end result is colour that is almost as intense as the Stampin’ Blends in the first card.
The sentiment on this card is from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set, and the ribbon embellishment is the Fine Art Ribbon.
There are also other products from Stampin’ Up! that are great for colouring, these are just 3.
Why not give one of them a try with the True Love DSP and see what colour fun you can have!
