Masking Technique

Today I have an easy technique that can really add to your stamping. It is called masking, and if you are willing to do some fussy cutting (or die cutting if available!!) it is easy.

I used the Nature’s Beauty stamp set for this card, stamping the fox in Cinnamon Cider ink on Very Vanilla cardstock. I also stamped the fox on a piece of paper and fussy cut it out.
Lay your cut out over your stamped image, then stamp the little bushes and add sponging on the bottom.

When you remove your paper mask, you have sponging all around the fox, and the bushes are in the background.

The Designer Series Paper panel in my card is from the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP. It has copper and gold foil accents on one side of each piece. I used the new Brushed Metallic cardstock to border my DSP, image piece and sentiment. The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.

I love the brushed texture on this paper, and each package has Gold, Copper and Bronze in it, so you get colour choices from just one package!
