Let's Celebrate With Simple Stamping
Sometimes in our crazy world, simple is best. Simple stamping, using just stamps, ink, and paper can be a great way to share a message and some joy with a handmade card. Whether you are new to stamping, or have years of experience, sometimes keeping things simple is best!
Let’s celebrate with #simplestamping.
This card uses just one colours, Magenta Madness ink and cardstock and some White cardstock. The flower and sentiment are from the Special Someone stamp set, and are perfect for any type of celebration. I stamped the flower and sentiment on a piece of white cardstock cut 2 x 2 1/2 inches, and framed it with a piece of Magenta Madness cardstock cut 2 1/4 x 2 3/4 inches. I used Dimensionals to mount that on a piece of white cardstock cut 5 1/4 x 4 inches, and used a Magenta Madness card base, cut 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches, scored and folded at 4 1/4 inches.
There is lots of white space on this card, drawing the eye to the bright colour and the message that we are celebrating a Very Special Day.
If you want to step up your card a bit, while still staying with some simple stamping, the next card includes two very simple techniques that take you card up a notch.
I used a Sponge Dauber, stamped in my Magenta Madness ink, and added polka dots to my background piece of cardstock.
For my flower image, I used a technique known as Stamping Off (or sometimes called second generation stamping). I stamped my flower in the middle of my cardstock, then without inking, I stamped a second time. For the third flower, I inked my stamp, but did my first stamp on a piece of scrap paper, then stamped off for the 3rd flower. This technique gives you great variation in your colour density, making it look like two different inks!
I also add some Clear Rhinestones to my flower centres to add a little bling to my card.
All dimensions on this card are the same as the first one.
For the third card, I stepped it up another notch, and add some embossing, using my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.
I used the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder, to give my card a subtle texture to the background piece, but still leave lots of white space for your eye to focus on the message. It is a bit difficult to capture with a camera, but here is a close up of the subtle embossing on the background. Again, all dimensions are the same.
No matter how you choose to do your simple stamping, these cards are all lovely. They are easy to create, and send a special handmade message.
