Time To Get Cute
I love snowmen! They are some of my favourite holiday and Christmas decorations. They are just so cute!! Here is a cute snowman that also holds a gift card. Now that is my kind of snowman!!
I adapted this from a pattern shared by Connie Babbert, another Demonstrator. They are easy to make, and fun to decorate.
Start with Basic Black cardstock, cut 11 x 4 1/2
On the long side, score at 5 3/4, 9 3/4. Turn clockwise, so the small section (hat brim) is at the bottom.
On the short side, score at 1/2, 4 ONLY to the second score line. Do not score the hat brim.
Cut the longest edge off, cut V notches in the middle tab.
Fold and burnish all score lines. The tabs fold in, and the long section folds up to create the back. The hat brim folds down in the opposite direction.
Use the Detailed Trio punch to round the corners on the top back of the card holder and the bottom of the hat brim.
Use a strong adhesive such as Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Tear & Tape.
Insert - Cut Designer Series Paper 6 1/2 x 3 1/4. Score at 1 inch on long side and fold up. This can be used to pull the gift card out of the holder.
To Decorate:
Face - Cut White cardstock 3 1/4 x 2 1/2, and emboss with Winter Snow Embossing Folder.
Nose - Cut Pumpkin Pie cardstock 3/4 x 1 1/2, the cut on the diagonal.
Hat - Cut Designer Series Paper 1/2 x 4, add your favourite embellishment
Eyes - Use 1/2 inch circle punch with Basic Black cardstock, or buttons or whatever you like for the eyes.
Here is another sample, sized for a regular gift card.
