Gift Cards For Everyone
Gift cards can make the perfect gift. The size fits, and these days with so much online shopping and take out food, it can be a great gift. Here is the perfect little envelope to dress up your gift card gifts, and they are easy to size to whatever you need.
The first ones I made are sized for a regular gift card.
Start with cardstock that is cut 6 1/2 x 6 inches, I used Pacific Point. Score on the long side at 3 and 6 inches.
Turn and score at 3/4 inch from one end.
Cut out the small corner notch, and the other end, with a V cut on the middle section, as shown in the photo below. Burnish all score lines.
Turn over, and add adhesive on the two tab sections.
Fold closed and press firmly.
Using the 1 1/2 inch circle punch, punch a tab area on the top.
I made a 5 x 2 3/4 inch Whisper White piece to insert. Score at 1 inch and fold up. This can be used to write your message on, and will easily pull the gift card out of the envelope.
Cut 2 pieces of Designer Series Paper 5 x 2 3/4 to decorate the front and back. I used the Snowflake Splendor DSP for these. Punch a notch in these as you did with the cardstock above.
I used a sentiment from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set for this, stamped with Pacific Point ink, and framed with Pacific Point cardstock.
Secure a piece of Linen Thread to the Pacific Point circle with dimensionals, and add sentiment on top.
Wrap Snowflake Splendor Ribbon around the envelope and tie in a bow. Add the tag with the Linen Thread.
And that’s it! Quick and easy, but makes a lovely envelope to dress up your gift card.
This pattern is easy to modify to make whatever size you need. The envelope above fits a standard gift card, but many gift cards come with a top portion now, so you will need a bigger envelope.
Just measure what width you need, double it and add a half inch for the fold in flap. The 6 inch length will work fine for most gift cards, so no adjustment necessary, but just add 3/4 inch t0 whatever length you want and you are good to go!
This envelope is wider, 3 1/2 inches, so I started with a 7 1/2 x 6 inch piece of cardstock. I scored at 3 1/2 and 7. I switched up the Designer Series Paper and used Feels Like Frost, and Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon for this one.
