Step 6 Woo Hoo!
A good friend of mine belongs to the same ski club I do. Many Wednesday’s through the winter you will find us together on a ski hill in the Collingwood area. Each morning we have a 2 hour ski lesson, and then in the afternoon we ski some more and practice what we have learned. The lessons are by Step, and you advance through them. Laurie had been in Step 5 for quite some time, in fact she thought she would be there forever, but her skiing has improved tremendously over the past year, and recently she was promoted to Step 6. I’m so proud of her accomplishment, I made her this card to celebrate.
I used four different flower stamps, 3 from Falling Flowers, and 1 from Touches of Texture, to stamp around the outside of Whisper White card stock, using Coastal Cabana and Gorgeous Grape ink. Using a blender pen, I pulled a bit of colour from the outline of the flowers into the middle to add some subtle colour to them. I stamped my sentiments in Gorgeous Grape. They are from the Strong and Beautiful stamp set, how perfect is that? Using some Washi Tape I masked off part of the one stamp to get only what I wanted for my card.
This is a great way to get the exact message you want, and makes your stamps even more versatile. Just remember to remove the washi tape after you ink up, before you stamp!!!
I mounted the card front on Coastal Cabana, Gorgeous Grape and a Grey Granite card base. To add a little bling to my celebration I coloured 3 clear rhinestones with my Dark Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend to make them similar to the flower colour.
Congratulations Laurie!
