Give Me The Gears
I have spent some time playing with the Classic Garage Suite. I got this a few months ago, and used it for our Girls Get Away Weekend in January, (see the card we made here), but I haven’t used it much since and it was calling to me. I have made five more cards using products from the suite, so if you like the Geared Up Garage set, watch for new ideas and inspiration in my posts over the next few weeks.
Today’s card could be used for Father’s Day (if you are really organized and want to make one now!), or for Dad’s birthday, or any time you want to let your Father know you think he is great.
I used the Garage Gears Thinlits to cut the gears from one of the pieces of Classic Garage 6 x 6 DSP. There are a number of images in the DSP sheets that match the Thinlits so you don’t have to fussy cut! I mounted the gears on a piece of Basic Grey card stock that I had embossed with the Hexagons TIEF. They look a bit like the nuts you use with bolts, so it made a perfect back drop for my card. I mounted all that on another piece of the DSP, and then a Pumpkin Pie card base. The sentiment is from the Geared Up Garage stamp set, and the thinlits cuts the outside banner shape and the middle all in one swipe. I popped the sentiment up with a dimensional.
A great card for any Dad!
