Friendship Smiles
Do you ever pause and think of a good friend. What happens when you do that? For me, it puts a smile on my face. I have many wonderful friends and I love them all dearly. They are my support system, they make me laugh, they inspire me, give me sound advice, join me in my adventures, and most of them will have to be my life long friends because they know way too much about me!!! I need to keep them close so my secrets don't spill out. LOL
My card today is my entry for the International Blog Highlights for June. This is hosted by Kylie Bertucci, a demonstrator from Australia. You can see her blog and vote for my card here. The theme for this month is Friendship, and for me that means smiles. My friends always make me smile and I appreciate them every day. Here is my card to honour them.
This card is a fancy fold made with 2 pieces of cardstock that form the base for the card.
Here is how I made this card. All measurements are in inches.
Merry Merlot - 5 1/2 x 5 1/2, score at 1 1/4
Balmy Blue - 8 x 5, score at 4
Fold both pieces of the card base on the score lines.
Natures Poem Designer Series Paper - 4 3/4 x 3 3/4
Balmy Blue strip - 5 1/4 x 1, emboss with the Basket Weave TIEF
Whisper White - 3 1/2 x 2 1/4, 3 x 7/8
Colourful Season stamp set
Merry Merlot and Soft Suede ink
Basic Jewels - Clear Rhinestones - largest size
Instructions
Using Snail adhesive, adhere the DSP to the Balmy Blue part of the card base. Adhere the back of the Balmy Blue to the Merry Merlot. Fold the 1 1/4 edge of the Merry Merlot over the Balmy Blue, and adhere with Snail. Add the Balmy Blue embossed strip.
Using Soft Suede ink, stamp 2 branch images on the larger piece of Whisper White. Using the Merry Merlot, add the flower stamp to the branches. Sponge the edges with Merry Merlot.
Stamp the sentiment on the smaller Whisper White strip and cut chevrons on both ends.
Use Snail to adhere the flowers to the card front, Stampin' Dimensionals for the sentiment, and add a large Rhinestone.
I hope you enjoy my card. Be sure to check out all the great cards on the blog and don't forget to vote for me!
Happy Stamping Hugs,
Connie
