Something New
Last weekend I attended my very first outdoor market, our Shop Local Market, sponsored by my church in Barrie. It was a wonderful event, and even though it was my first outdoor market and I learned a lot, it was very successful.
MSH came along to help me with set up which was awesome. These canopy tents aren’t really difficult to put up, but it is way easier with 2 people than trying to do it yourself! Plus we had borrowed the weights from a friend, so I wasn’t sure how it was all going to come together.
This is my indoor display board, and although I could still use it, it had to sit on the ground as the wind was blowing it off my table. It worked though. People saw the cards in the board and stopped in to see what all I had. I sold a number of cards off the board, so I know it worked!
I had made some display boards for our kits and sold some of those. The bright colours and pretty cards are great for catching peoples attention.
Thankfully it wasn’t too windy, but things did blow a bit, so I know I need lots of back supports to hold things in place. Lots of learning, but lots of fun, and I met some wonderful people.
A very successful outing.
I will also be attending some of the Wasaga Beach Farmers Markets, so by the fall I will have the system down pat!!
