Artfully Layered Cut Front
It's another FABulous Saturday and we have a new super simple Fun Fold to share with you today. It's Jeanne’s turn, and she’s making an Artfully Layered Cut Front Card.
Artfully Composed Suite Collection
The Artfully Composed Suite Collection contains a beautiful array of products, and although I did purchase the suite, today I am using ONLY the stamp set and DSP (Designer Series Paper) from the collection.
Simple yet elegant
This is the simplest fun fold card you'll ever make. And, although it is so easy, I believe its simple elegance lends itself to almost any occasion.
Easiest fun fold ever!
To make this fun fold, simply cut a strip from the front edge of the card. This allows the inside back of the card to show. Then, glue a strip of DSP to the right edge so that it shows even when the card is closed. How easy is that?!
How it's made
For my card, I've taken a half sheet (5 1/2" x 8 1/2") of Thick Basic White cardstock, scored and folded it in half (4 1/4"), and trimmed 3/4" off the edge of the front.
I embossed a Basic White panel (3 1/4" x 5 1/4") with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder and centered it on the front of the card using Stampin' Seal. Next, I stamped the leaf and greeting in Old Olive ink on another Basic White panel (2 1/2" x 4 3/4").
For the inside, I adhered a 1" strip of DSP to the inside right edge using Multipurpose Glue. I like to use glue for this step as you want to line it up exactly with the edge of the card and with glue you can adjust it a bit if needed. Finally, I stamped a portion of the same leaf in Old Olive at the bottom of the card.
The Details
I wrapped a piece of Linen Thread around the stamped panel and adhered it to the embossed panel on the front using Dimensionals.
Three silver metallic pearls (now retired) add a little bling.
I hope you've enjoyed this easy project. When you need a card at the last minute, it would be a great choice. And, with a different sentiment, I think it would also make a nice sympathy card.
