Connie's Craft Along
Every now and again you need to stock up on some of your essential cards. Unfortunately I need sympathy cards right now. It is sad that we need these, but wonderful how pretty they can be, and how much comfort you can send in a handmade card that says I care, and I’m thinking of you.
This is where we started. The pieces are easy to cut, so I suggested everyone cut enough to make a few cards.
And this is where we went with those pieces, and a two easy cuts with our trimmer.
This card has a fun surprise as you open it that is created with just two easy cuts with your trimmer.
As you lift from the edges, only the edges of the card lift, while the centre section remains folded down.
At least until you lift it!
How fun is that? This card is super easy to make, but has a WOW factor. My favourite type of card.
These first cards were made with the pretty Sun Prints Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. It is a great ‘go to’ stamp set for so many standard sentiments.
I decided to end with a Christmas card, so this is the one I made.
I used the Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper and the Sweet Candy Canes Bundle for this card. I wasn’t sure exactly what I would use for my interest element, but I love the way the candy cane with a bow turned out.
Did you see the embossing on my strip across the card? That is the Whimsical Woodland 3D Embossing Folder. It is easy to miss it in the July-December Mini Catalogue, but it is on page 39. You must check it out because it is awesome. Whimsical and super cute. I missed it originally, but then saw it on a card and had to order it. I’m so glad I did, I love it, and I think you will too. Order yours today.
