Double Pocket Fold Card
Today I have a card that looks like it would be difficult to make, but is actually very easy. Fancy and easy, you have to love that!
This is a Double Pocket Fold card, and it is a great way to show off our beautiful Designer Series Paper, especially if you like both sides and can never decide which one to use!
With some simple folding the front of the card is two pockets that you can insert tags of messages, gift cards or other thin items.
Here are the instructions.
DOUBLE POCKET FOLD CARD
DSP - 8 1/2 x 11 inches
On the short side, score at 4 1/4
On the long side, score at 5 1/2
Fold and burnish, forward and back with your bone folder
On the bottom right corner, fold the corner up to just short of the score line in a diagonal fold
On the top left, measure 3 inches from the left edge, and fold diagonally at the 3 inch mark
On the left side of the DSP cut the middle score line to the centre score line
The top left side folds over to the right side
The bottom right side folds up
The flap on the left folds to the back
You can fold the larger flap in the opposite direction to show different DSP
Glue down the pocket edges
The two tags in this sample are 2 x 5 1/4, and 2 x 4 3/4
Decorate the front
TIPS -
If you use paper with a directional pattern, some of it will be sideways or upside down.
My reindeer is sideways on this card. I could have left the flap folded the other way, but I thought that looked like too much red and black check, so I opted for the sideways image.
My third sample used DSP that had subtle pattern on both sides, so I made the tags a bit fancier to brighten up the green.
