Oh What Fun!
We had another great night of mystery stamping, with card making and chatter. The card this time was not a difficult layout, and not as much room for interpretation as with some cards, but it was a fun layout, and we had some awesome cards that everyone shared.
I had decided I would CASE (copy and selectively edit) a card from the annual catalogue. I had it sitting open at page 63, and the card on the left caught my eye. This was the one! I don’t have the Celebrate With Flowers stamp set with the vertical Happy Birthday greeting, but not problem, I would just switch that out for Designer Series Paper (DSP). Since I didn’t have a sentiment down the card base side, I added one to the front, from the Enjoy The Moment stamp set, and framed with the swirly circle die from Painted Labels. The butterflies are stamped with Cinnamon Cider ink on Pool Party cardstock using the Positive Thoughts stamp set, and cut with the coordinating Nature’s Thoughts Dies. I used 2 types of DSP, the 6 x 6 Assortment – Subtles, and the Hand Penned DSP. Some Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels add a little sparkle and finish off the card.
The second card was done landscape instead of portrait, using the pretty Pansy Petals DSP. The sentiment is from Biggest Wish, stamped in Evening Evergreen on Soft Seafoam cardstock. The sentiment and frame are punched with the Rectangular Postage Stamp punch. I mounted them to hang down past the card front. The dragonflies are from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set and are Gold Embossed. Some Opal Rounds accent the dragonflies and sentiment.
So in the end all I really used for the sample card was the card base with the cut off section. This was what first caught my eye, and that is what CASEing is all about. Use what you love and edit the rest! I encourage you to page through the catalogue and find a card that calls to you in some way. Use what you love, and make the rest your own.
