I Love Blending Brushes
Have you played with the Stampin’ Up! Blending Brushes yet? They are super soft brushes that are wonderful for blending to create gorgeous backgrounds and patterns in all your favourite colours.
I had done a demonstration a while ago to show how to use these brushes, and coloured this piece of Basic White cardstock with Highland Heather, Balmy Blue and Misty Moonlight. That was as far as I went, just to demonstrate the blending and show the beautiful effect you could create.
Today I decided to (finally) use this piece of cardstock for some card making.
For this card I cut the large outline die from the Potted Succulents Dies in Blackberry Bliss cardstock. I layered that over my blended background piece and adhered it all to a Basic White card base. The die is the same size as a standard card base, so the Basic White does not show.
My sentiment is from the Simply Succulents stamp set, and is stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink, and die cut with another die from the same die set, along with the Highland Heather backdrop for my sentiment. I used a triple stand of Linen Thread to make a bow for the card. I didn’t want to add a lot to this card as the die cut and the blended background are the stars on this one.
The second card I am sharing today uses the Dragonfly Garden stamp set, and I stamped with Memento Black ink, right on my background.
The sentiment is from the same set, stamped on Highland Heather, and cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. The card base is Misty Moonlight, and it is finished off with a knotted piece of Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon.
If you haven’t tried the Blending Brushes yet, don’t wait any longer. They are fun to use, and the results are beautiful.
