More Blossoms In Bloom With A Technique
The other day I shared some cards made using the Blossoms In Bloom Bundle. Today I have a couple more, made with the Joseph’s Coat Technique.
This is a fun technique that gives you a beautiful background for your cards and other projects.
Directions:
Sponge different colours of ink onto your cardstock. I coloured Basic White cardstock with Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody and Calypso Coral., using my Blending Brushes.
Stamp an image with VersaMark ink and heat emboss with Clear Embossing Powder.
Use a brayer to completely cover the piece of cardstock with dark ink. I used Memento Black ink.
Use a paper towel to rub off the excess ink, allowing the embossed image to show the colours underneath. The embossing creates a resist, so the colours come through!
Use piece on your card, finishing as desired.
Sometimes when we are trying things, they don’t work out as well as we had hoped. While I don’t hate the last card, it isn’t really the look I was going for. This stamp is a Dist-INK-tive stamp, meaning there is natural shading built into the stamp, so some parts pick up more ink than others. Some of my black ink showed on my flowers where the stamp had less VersaMark ink, and Clear Embossing Powder. I decided to give it another try with something other than black ink.
This time I used Mango Melody cardstock, and stamped with VersaMark ink and Clear Embossing Powder.
I covered my cardstock with Calypso Coral ink using a brayer.
When I wiped off the excess ink with paper towel, I had Mango Melody flowers with Calypso Coral highlights.
This was more the look I was after! I used a die cut of Very Vanilla to outline the flowers, added a sentiment and some Clear Rhinestone embellishments.
Sometimes things don’t work out as we hope, but in the end I do like the dark card, but the second one is more in line with what was in my minds eye!!
There are so many ways to use this great bundle. Check it out.
