Getting Fancy with Blending Brushes and Dies
I love playing with Blending Brushes. There are so many pretty colour combinations and they can be used to create many different looks.
One of the easiest, and prettiest things to use them for is to create shaded backgrounds for your cards. You can create your own version of Designer Series Paper, blending colours to create unique background cardstock.
For this card I used Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape to create shades of purples to go behind the Just Jade die cut Flower Market. The sentiment is from Blossoms In Bloom, stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink on Highland Heather cardstock, and punched with the Double Oval Punch. The Gorgeous Grape frame is from the same punch. I finished off the card with a Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon bow.
For this card I used Blushing Bride, Soft Seafoam, and a little Old Olive ink to blend the background. The die cut is from the Potted Succulents Dies. I love this outline die cut, but it can be difficult to glue to your card, unless you use Adhesive Sheets. They make adhering detailed die cuts easy to adhere as they turn your cardstock into a sticker. They are easy to use and make working with these detailed die cuts so much more pleasant! This card is embellished with Opal Rounds for some subtle sparkle.
Blending Brushes are a great tool to add to your crafting collection for some wonderful colouring fun.
