Summertime

In the last week or so, we have gone from late winter chilly weather, to mid-summer hot. It has been a crazy turnaround in temperature. Today it was 32 degrees!! The heat has made all the leaves burst open, and more flowers are blooming every day. I couldn’t help but make a summertime card for my post today.

I used the stamp set By The Dock, and the coordinating Dockside dies for this card. I stamped on Crumb Cake card stock, with Soft Suede ink, and then I coloured the image with my Watercolour Pencils. I used an Aqua Painter to blend the pencil crayons, and really like how the dock ended up looking like weathered wood - just like my dock at the cottage!! I haven’t used my Watercolour Pencils for a while, and had forgotten how much fun they are, and what lovely results they give. I will be using these again soon!
My Balmy Blue mat is embossed with the Subtle embossing folder to look like the little ripples on the lake. The sentiment is stamped in Daffodil Delight, which I also used for the card base.

I can’t wait to be sitting on my dock at the cottage enjoying my morning coffee.
