Let's Set Sail
My sweet husband (MSH) loves to sail, but there may not be much of that this summer. He doesn’t own a big sail boat anymore, but with the marinas closed right now, even those that do cannot get their boats in the water. For now, a card will have to do.
I made this card for MSH for our ‘Month-a-versay’. We celebrate each month, often as a ‘date night’ but we won’t go out this month. We will have a nice dinner, and I always give him a card!
The background on this card is embossed with the High Seas embossing folder. I then used a sponge brayer and rolled Versa Mark ink over the high spots. I covered it with Silver embossing powder, and heat embossed it. The technique is called Embossed Embossing. I like how the water is silvery with the Balmy Blue highlights. My boats are from the Sailing Home stamp set, cut with the coordinating dies, and I added a bit of colour with my Stampin’ Blends markers. The sentiment is stamped with Memento Black ink, using a sentiment from Enjoy Life, and cut with the Stitched Nested Labels. It all sits on a Basic Black background and a Balmy Blue card base.
