Sparkling Birthday Wishes
The new annual Stampin’ Up! Catalogue has two new embossing powders; Shimmer Black and Shimmer White. Today I decided to play with the Shimmer White, and it is magnificent. I have never embossed one of our DistINKtive stamps, so decided to give it a try. While some of the unique shading is lost doing this, it gave me the perfect opportunity to add some highlights.
I made this card for the Case This Sketch challenge. Here is the sketch they have for us.
I started by stamping the flower from Healing Hugs with Versa Mark ink, and used the Shimmer White embossing powder, on Gorgeous Grape cardstock. I added petal lines and details with the Dark Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend marker. I also outlined my flower with this marker. I cut it out with a Layering Circle die, and mounted it on a Balmy Blue Stitched Shape circle. My sentiment is from Itty Bitty Birthdays, stamped in Gorgeous Grape on Balmy Blue, and cut with the Stitched Rectangle die. The backdrop for my card is from the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper, on a Balmy Blue card base. I finished the card with some Metallic Gold Pearls. I really like this new embossing powder and can’t wait to try the Shimmer Black. Why not order some today for yourself and give this great new embossing powder a try.
