Love Love Love Paper Pumpkin
All I can say is WOW, I love this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit. It has a Distinkive stamp set. A what you ask? Distinktive stamps are totally unique and give you photo-realistic style images. They are available only from Stampin’ Up! Distinktive stamps have a special texture that gives added depth and dimension in a single step. The stamp set in the April Paper Pumpkin kit has two of these. A GORGEOUS flower, and a leaf sprig. I couldn’t wait to make the cards!
I love that the Paper Pumpkin kit comes with all the supplies you need to create beautiful projects, and this month Stampin’ Up! outdid themselves. The kit gives you supplies to complete 9 note card sized cards, and some leftovers to create even more beautiful cards. Of course you also have the stamp set and ink spot - Grey Granite this month, so you can add your own supplies and make as many cards and other projects as you like even after you have used all the supplies they give you.
After I made one of each of the designes provided by the full instruction sheet, I decided to change things up, just a little this month, and make the remaining six cards each a little different. Here is what I ended up with.
Aren’t they GORGEOUS??? I can’t stop gushing over this beautiful kit, and I love how these cards turned out. I stayed with the colour pallette provided in the kit, using Mint Macaron, Flirty Flamingo and So Saffron ink and card stock to create these cards. All the card bases are from the kit.
I really liked the look of the background for one of the cards from the kit, so I got out my sponge daubers and went to town.
With a light touch, I swirled colour onto my stamped flower images, and around the edges of some too. I had so much fun with this I couldn’t stop, so all my flowers have colour added to them. I am definitely going to use this little technique on future cards.
