The Creative Process

My last post featured a card with the new In Colour Seaside Spray. If you missed it, you can see it here. I love this colour, it’s softness, and purple blue hue. I used it again today, combined with a Regal Christmas colour, Merry Merlot.

I used the So Many Stars stamp set, and coordinating Stitched Stars Dies to create my card. The star image along with the Joy sentiment were stamped in Versa Mark, and embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. The star spray was cut from Silver Foil. This card also features the gorgeous Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon.
My card was inspired by the Global Design Project challenge. Here is the banner for it.

In looking at this lovely card I wanted to use stars as Manuela did. I’m working on my display board for upcoming events, and need some landscape cards, so I wanted to make this card landscape rather than portrait. No problem, that’s easy to do. I cut the star spray wanting to add it, and I also wanted to include the beautiful ribbon. In putting the card pieces together, the Joy sentiment seemed to fit nicely in the top left corner, so that’s where it went. Once my card was finished, I looked at the card we were to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit), and realized our cards were actually quite different. I thought about making another card that aligned more closely with the one from Manuela, but since it was her card that inspired mine, I decided to stick with it.
It is clear that the creative process in complex, and we each see different elements on a card that inspire us. That is what is so beautiful about our craft. You can see one small element on a card and it can inspire all sorts of wonderful creations.
Cheers to the creative process.
