Love To Colour
I love stamping and making beautiful hand made cards of all types, but one of my favourites is colouring on my cards. When I was little, I loved to colour, and the comfort of colouring remains with me today. I think many people feel the same way, as my colouring classes are very popular, and people look forward to all the creative ways Stampin’ Up! gives us to colour our cards.
I made these cards for the Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge 234. The theme this time is colouring!
I used the Butterfly Gala stamp set, and started by heat embossing my butterfly images with gold embossing powder on Vellum Card Stock. I coloured them with my Aqua Painter, using Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green and Balmy Blue ink, and punched them out with the Butterfly Duet punch. I love how the stamp and punch give you the large and small butterflies together, quick and easy! I mounted them on a Very Vanilla square, and then Flirty Flamingo, both cut with the Layering Squares dies. To adhere the butterflies I used a little Tombow glue, only along the centre strip of the butterflies so their wings would be free to flutter! A coordinating background piece of card stock, and Flirty Flamingo card bases for both. My sentiment is also from the Butterfly Gala stamp set.
These are easy cards to create, but pack a pretty colourful punch. You could make a whole set in different colours to give someone as a gift.
If you are new to stamping, you could just hand cut the layering squares, rather than use the dies. All you need is the stamp set - which gives you both images and sentiments in one set, the coordinating punch, and some pretty card stock and ink. You’re ready to create beautiful cards and gifts.
