Soft Shadows

The new Lovely Floral TIEF (Textured Impressions Embossing Folder) really is lovely. You can use it to create a beautiful focal point for your card, as I have done today.

This card may look a little tricky to make, but it isn't really difficult. First, emboss your piece of Whisper White card stock. Then, on the raised side gently add colour to the card using a sponge dauber. These fit nicely on your finger so they are easy to use. As you rub the dauber over the raised portions of your card, some ink will also spread inside the flower petals, and around the leaves. This gives the card some soft shadows and enhances the look.
For a different look, you can use your dauber to sponge colour on the indented side. In this case you will have white lines for your image outline, with colour inside and outside the lines. Either way, it is a lovely look.
Since I was on a roll with the embossing folders, I embossed my Grapefruit Grove card base front with the Petal Burst TIEF. I rounded the corners of my Whisper White embossed piece, as well as my Mint Macaron border piece, using the new Detailed Trio punch. Using Mint Macaron I stamped the thank you greeting from the Love What You Do stamp set, and punched it out with the Pretty Label punch. I also punched a Mint Macaron piece, cut it in half vertically, and used the pieces to frame my greeting. A piece of Mint Macaron card stock punched with the Decorative Ribbon Border punch made a perfect piece of 'ribbon' for my greeting to sit on.
This card shows lots of uses for our embossing folders and punches. Why not give some of them a try yourself. I know you will love the versatility of them.
