Happy Birthday to My Sister
Yesterday was my sister Patrice’s birthday, and her son’s decided to surprise her with a dinner of 35-40 of her closest friends and family! It wasn’t a milestone birthday, because they figured that would never surprise her, but it is always fun to celebrate your special day, no matter what the age. Here is the birthday card I made for her.
I used a mainly monochromatic colour palatte for the card, using Gorgeous Grape for the card base, the Swirls and Curls TIEF layer, and the stamping. I used the gorgeous Wishing You Well stamp set for the main image. I love the distINKtive bow stamp in this set. The stamps made with this distINKtive process lay down the ink at different opacities giving the finished image more depth. There’s nothing tricky to it, you just ink the surface lightly for a perfect photographic finish. The sentiment is from the Beautiful Day stamp set.
I needed a gift bag for Patrice so I made one of those too. I didn’t coordinate the colours this time, but decided to use red as it is her favourite colour. That set the colour scheme for the gift bag.
I used Real Red, Flirty Flamingo and Coastal Cabana cut outs to decorate my bag. I love how easy it is to decorate with shapes and words from our Thinlits. I used 3 different sets here, Happy Birthday Thinlits, May Flowers Framlits, along with the Falling Flowers stamp set, and Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. This bag was quick and easy to decorate, and made it very personal. That’s just one thing I love about being a stamper!
Happy Birthday Patrice!
