Sailing Away

In a recent post I mentioned that it was my fiance’s birthday, but I couldn’t post the card I made him until after his birthday. You can see that post here if you like. Today I am showing you the birthday card I made for him.

Steve loves to sail, and this summer we got my Dad’s little sail boat up and running again at the cottage. It is a small boat, but it sails well, and our lake has so many hills and wind patterns around it, that sailing on it is always a fun challenge. Since your birthday is about celebrating and things you love, I decided to make a card with sailing as the theme.
I used images from the Lilypad Lake stamp set, and added some colour to the sails with Stampin’ Write markers. After I coloured the sun, I used a sponge to add sunshine to the card around the sun and the boats. I had fun making this card, and Steve loved it!
