World Watercolour Month
Did you know it is World Watercolour Month? It is, so today’s FAB Stampers post celebrates watercolouring.
From Connie’s Craft Studio . . .
I always enjoy colouring, and water colouring, but I don’t think to do it too often. However, since it is World Watercolour Month, I have my tools handy, and have had fun playing with them recently. There are lots of ways to watercolour in your crafting, my projects today use our Water Painters.
If you haven’t tried these, they are great tools to make watercolour really easy. The package contains 3 brushes in various sizes to meet all your crafting needs from tiny detail colouring to broad colour wash techniques. Just fill the barrel with water, give a gentle squeeze and you are ready to pick up your ink and colour. I like to stamp from my ink pad to a clear block and pick up my ink from there.
On To The Fun
There are lots of ways to watercolour, but you need to make sure you use a permanent ink such as StazOn to stamp with so your stamped image doesn’t run as you colour it. I decided to use gold embossing for my cards to today, along with this image from Amazing Silhouettes. I embossed a piece of Watercolour Paper, then used Parakeet Party and Garden Green to colour my leaves. There are no sentiments in the Amazing Silhouettes stamp set, so I used ‘Sending Hugs’ from the Splendid Thoughts stamp set.

I mounted my watercolour paper on a frame cut from a piece of the gold paper from the Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper. I layered that on a piece of Garden Green cardstock that I embossed with the new Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder. Have you seen this in the new July-December Mini Catalogue? It is a bit of a hidden gem, and easy to miss, but check it out on page 53 because it is lovely. My card base is Parakeet Party, and I added some Brushed Brass Butterflies to finish off the card.
Simply Succulents
I used the large image from Simply Succulents for my second card and switched to Shimmery White cardstock. I stamped with VersaMark ink and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder again. I used Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride ink to colour my succulent.

This piece is mounted on Brushed Metallic cardstock and added to the Blushing Bride card base with Dimensionals. The sentiment is from the same stamp set, and also embossed in gold. Some Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels pick up the colours of the image beautifully.
