Nature's Prints
It’s time for another FAB Stampers share and today it’s Leonie’s turn. She used the lovely Nature’s Prints stamps for her cards today.
Leonie says . . .
I love any stamp set that contains leaves or flowers so when I saw the Nature’s Prints bundle I knew I had to get it! For today’s projects I’ve just used the Nature’s Prints Stamp Set.
This set is the type of set I recommend to new stampers. It has imagery of leaves, flowers and splats (everyone needs splats) plus a variety of sentiments.
Baby Wipe Technique
For today’s project I thought I’d incorporate a fun and easy technique – the Baby Wipe Technique. It’s fun and easy and uses items you probably already have on hand.
For this technique you will need …
Baby Wipes (just get the cheapest as they work perfectly)
a plastic tray or case (our Clear Stamp Cases are perfect otherwise those plastic trays from the Chinese takeaway work well
Ink Refills/Reinkers – choose 2 or 3 colours
Stamps – any will do but solid sentiments and flowers work well or distinktive stamps like Nature’s Prints also work really well.
The cards …
Here are the cards I’ve made for you today ..
Don’t you love how these cards turned out? That fern and how well it stamped with the colours I chose. The colours I chose were Pacific Point, Balmy Blue and Pool Party for the technique and used Night of Navy Ink Pad for the sentiments.
I love how the ferns turned out on this card … all those colours!
To separate the foliage I did use a little piece of scrap note paper to mask the fern leaves to stamp the other foliage. This also gives the card depth.
I layered my stamped piece onto a Night of Navy mat and then popped some Glitter Organza ribbon around and into a knot. To finish off I added some Iridescent Rhinestones for some bling … or water droplets!
Baby Wipe Block
This card is a different way to use the Baby Wipe Technique. I actually used my ‘palette’ to ink up one of my D blocks, spritzed it with a little water to get the colours to blend a bit and stamped it onto my Basic White cardstock. Instant Background! I then just stamped the two foliage stamps in Night of Navy and added the sentiment. Again, they are layered onto Navy cardstock and embellished with the Iridescent Rhinestones.
