Friendly Hello
The Friendly Hello stamp set and Designer Series Paper is a double item that you may select for FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-a-Bration .Both of these are beautiful, but today I am only playing with the stamp set.
You may notice that this card does have Designer Series Paper, but it is not from the pack. This DSP is some that I made, using the stamps from the stamp set
Making Your Own DSP
It is great fun to make your own DSP, and you can customize it with any colours you like. I chose 5 stamps from the Friendly Hello Stamp Set, along with Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, Fresh Freesia, Petal Pink and Pool Party for this.
I recommend you start stamping with your largest stamp, and work your way down to the smallest stamp. You just randomly stamp anywhere you like in all directions. It is okay to overlap or not, whatever appeals to you. When your paper is as full as you like, you are done making your DSP and are ready to start creating with it.
On To The Cards
I used a large piece of my DSP - 5 1/4 x 4, and a relatively small middle section - 3 x 3 1/2 so there would be a nice wide border to show off my DSP. Since the background on the card is very busy, I left the bird and flower stamp as just a line image. I think it creates a nice balance.
For this card I used a large piece of my DSP again, and this time I only added a sentiment and accent piece so most of the card is the DSP.
I love making my own Designer Series Paper and hope you will give it a try as well.
