Celebrate S-I-P
S-I-P is a common acronym for Stamps-Ink-Paper, and is all you need to create amazing cards. Today we celebrate the elegance of S-I-P with some clean and simple cards.
Of course starting with a great stamp set makes the rest fall into place easily, so I started with the Bamboo Beauty stamp set. This set has same relatively simple, yet elegant images, and some amazing sentiments. I have been admiring it since the Annual catalogue first came out, but only recently purchased it. So far I’m loving it!
I made the first card with Basic White and Night of Navy. For the second card I switched to Merry Merlot. I was loving the card so much I had to make one more, so did one with Basic White and Basic Black.
I used just a thin frame of colour around my main piece to make it ‘pop’ rather than be an additional layer. I love how changing the width of layers can change the look of a card so easily.
The two layers are then adhered to a Thick Basic White card base using Dimensionals. This give the card a little more texture and interest while maintaining the simple elegance.
If you know me well, you know I love to add some gems to almost every card I make. I had to almost sit on my hands not to add some gems to these cards, but I really do like the clean look of the cards just the way they are. (Although I’m sure they would be lovely with some gems too. Hahaha!)
