1, 2, 3, Cards For Everyone
Whether you are new to stamping and card making or have been at it for years, there are lots of ways to create beautiful handmade cards.
Today I want to share 3 cards that show you how to step up a card from quick and easy, all the way to lots of steps.
If you are new to stamping, and don’t have a lot of supplies, or if you want a pretty card that you can make without getting out lots of supplies, this is the place to start.
This card uses cardstock from the Subtles Cardstock Assortment, so you only need one package of cardstock to get all these choices.
I have used Mint Macaron for the card base, along with the matching ink, Calypso Coral cardstock and in, and So Saffron cardstock. You will see these colours on all three cards.
The stamp set used for all my cards is Dragonfly Garden, which is in the new Mini catalogue.
To make this card I stamped the dragonfly twice, and added a sentiment from the set at the bottom. I stamped the little dragonfly cluster all over my card base.
This card is easy to put together, and you don’t need a lot of supplies to have pretty results.
The second card is similar, but stepped up a bit with some additional supplies.
The card base remains the same, but this time I punched out the large dragonflies with the coordinating Dragonflies Punch.
The small dragonfly is also from the punch, but there is no stamp image for it. I didn’t want to have a plain dragonfly, so I sponged Calypso Coral ink on my So Saffron cardstock before I punched out the small dragonflies.
My sentiment for this card is stamped and punched out with the Tailored Tag Punch. I also punched a tag in Mint Macaron, cut it in half, and created a border for this tag. I layered this on a piece of Forever Greenery Trim, Vanilla Ribbon.
The third card is stepped up another notch from the second one, with more texture and embellishments.
This card has the same stamped and punched dragonflies, but I also coloured them with Stampin’ Blends. I also stamped the dragonfly on Vellum Cardstock and punched them out to layer on the dragonflies.
My So Saffron background is embossed with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder. The dragonfly background and sentiment box are die cut, using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. The larger piece is embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
The sentiment on this card is stamped with VersaMark ink, and I used White Embossing Powder and heat embossed it. I used a bow, rather than a flat ribbon, and added some Clear Rhinestone Jewels to the dragonflies.
I love how the Vellem layer makes the dragonflies look like they are fluttering on my card!
You can choose whichever card best suits your situation. Start easy, and step it up as you go. They are all pretty handmade cards that anyone would love to receive.
