Christmas in July

The month would not be complete without a card to celebrate Christmas in July! The August - December mini catalogue goes live on August 4, and it is packed full of great items, including lots of great Christmas sets.

I used the Peaceful Nativity Bundle for this card, and I love it. It has images you can colour, so I pulled out my Stampin’ Blends and coloured away. The coordinating Nativity Dies cut out all the stamped images, and also have a star, a backdrop, and some tree dies that I used in my card.
I used dimensional pieces to pop the stable outline above the backdrop of the stable. I also popped up the Mary, Joseph, and Jesus cut out.

For my tree cut outs, I cut the image in Soft Suede card stock, and then cut just the tops in Garden Green to glue over the Soft Suede, so my tree tops are green with a brown trunk.

As I was looking for my Foil paper to cut out a star, I was reaching for Gold, but changed to Silver. It got me thinking, when we cut out a star for a card, we often use gold or yellow, but if you look at the night sky, the stars look silver or white, not gold or yellow. How did that all get started. Just one of those things my enquiring mind wonders!

I used Silver Foil for my star, and added a Clear Rhinestone as well for some extra sparkle. I love how this card turned out, and will make some more that are similar to it.
Welcome to this wonderful season.
