Cottage Love
My Dad built a cottage for us when I was a child, and our family still loves going there. It is one of my daughter’s favourite places.
Laura loves to fish, and you will often see her in her blue boat out on the lake with a fishing rod in hand. You can usually catch some fish in our lake, but sometimes they just aren’t biting. I made this card thinking it is probably a dream vision for my daughter, lots of fish jumping out of the water waiting for her to cast her line!
I used a few different stamp sets for this card; By The Dock, Mountain Air, and Waterfront to create my scene. I also sponged the sky in Balmy Blue, the bottom tree line in Shaded Spruce, and the water in Seaside Spray. My stamping is done with Shaded Spruce, Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray, and Memento Black. The boat is coloured with a Water Painter, using Pacific Point - to match her boat, Grey Granite, and Basic Grey. The paddle is painted with Cinnamon Cider.
I really enjoy creating a picture that reminds me of something that makes us so happy.
We have a plaque on our sunroom wall that says; Memories made at the lake last a lifetime. It certainly is true for our family.
