Masculine Card With a Twist
The Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge is to create a masculine card. I love making masculine cards, as they are very different than the ones we tend to make with flowers. (Although I love those too!!) I like to add a little extra challenge sometimes, and today I have added a twist to my masculine card. Can you find something on my card that may not be considered masculine?
I used the Sailing Home stamp set, and Smooth Sailing Dies for my card. This suite can be used for any type of card, but there is a masculine tone to it, so it is great for making cards for a special guy.
And here’s the twist! The Designer Series Paper I used to create my rough seas is actually a piece from Perennial Essence DSP! This gorgeous paper has lots of beautiful flower images, but some of the pieces have a more marbelled look, and few or no flowers. This piece does have some small flowers on it, but there are parts of the paper where there are none, and I thought the colours and look of this were perfect to reflect stormy seas, and coordinate with the sentiment on my card.
So there you have it. I challenged myself to use something we might think of as feminine in a masculine themed card, and I think it works! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think.
