Heat Embossing - Quick Tip

Today I have some pretty cards to share, but I also want to give you a little tip if you are heat embossing with two-step stamping.

I was playing with the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper and the Two-Tone Flora stamp set for these cards. I want to use white around the flowers, and to make it bright and bold, so that of course means heat embossing with White Embossing Powder.

The first time I did this, I did the embossing first, then stamped with my ink. This is the wrong order! When you stamp an image on top of embossing, the embossed parts work as a resist, so the ink doesn’t go in all the right places!

Instead, you want to stamp with your ink first, then stamp with Versa Mark ink, and add your White embossing powder.

I love two-step stamping, it gives your image extra depth and texture. Just remember to stamp with your coloured ink first, then the Versa Mark for your heat embossing!
