Happy Birthday to my Sweet Fiancé! (No longer my Sweet Boyfriend!). This is actually the card I made for him for September 27, but I can’t post the birthday card I made for him until after today, so that will be in a future post.
Read MoreLife has been busy lately, with some very special events. My Sweet Boyfriend proposed on August 27th, so now I’m planning my wedding. Then on September 22 my daughter got engaged! Hers won’t be for a little while, which will give me time to do the crafty work for mine before I start work for hers!
I did have a heads up that this was coming though, so I made this card for her and her fiance to let them know how happy we are.
Last week the Global Design Project had a colour challenge. The week slipped away, and I didn’t get to participate. This week there is a sketch challenge. I really like the colours from last weeks challenge - Blackberry Bliss, Grapefruit Grove and Mint Macaron. They are 3 of my favourite Stampin’ Up! colours, so I decided to combine last week and this week and use those colours in this weeks sketch!
Read MoreSome days it is really easy to create, while others seem to stump your creativity. I don’t know why or how this happens, but we all seem to experience it from time to time. I’m grateful on the days that I go to my craft studio and the ideas just flow like butter melting on hot toast! On days that have no toast, I call upon one of the many ways to jump start creativity.
Read MoreGratitude is the easiest way to bring more good into your life. Living a grateful life is a choice we all make. We can focus on what we don’t have, or we can be grateful for the many blessings we have in our life. For me, that choice is easy. I am truly grateful for many things in my life, and I take time each day to think about at least some of them, to give thanks, and be grateful for them. It really is the easiest way to bring more good into your life.
Read MoreSo few people send cards, and it is such an easy way to brighten someone’s day. The Pastor at my church is fantastic at staying in touch with people, so I make Thinking of You and Hello type cards for him to send. I love donating a stack of cards to the church and knowing they will bright so many peoples day. I’m truly grateful that he takes the time to stay in touch with people, and love to do my part to help with that.
Read MoreI love the High Tide stamp set. If you check out page 145 in the Annual Catalogue, you will see a few great projects made with this stamp set. I especially love how they have cropped some of the greetings to give even more flexibility to how you use this set. For my card today I used a full sentiment stamp that shares a great message of support.
Read MoreThis week over at the Global Design Challenge we have a CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) the Designer challenge. This was a fun card to CASE. It is beautiful in its simplicity, and I decided to keep my colour scheme simple as well, using neutral colours in similar tones.
Read MoreAs a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I belong to a group of demonstrators that have a weekly business chat. The woman that facilitates these chats is fantastic. She has been a demonstrator for many years and has lots of great experience and ideas. She openly shares these with us, along with research she has done on each topic.
Recently she lost her son, a devasting but very real life event. I wanted to make a sympathy card for her. Something simple that would let her know that at a terrible time there were people that wanted to support her.
Butterflies can be beautiful and intricate in their colouring, or more simple and elegant. Stampin’ Up! products help you create all these types of butterflies and everything in between. My card today features a simple, yet elegant copper butterfly.
Read MoreSometimes our cards have stamped images or items we have cut with our Big Shot, but sometimes I like to make a card where the sentiment is the main focal point. My card today is just that type.
Read MoreToday I have another card I made using the Delightfully Detailed Memories and More cards. The large cards are 4 x 6 inches in size, so they are bigger than you need for a regular card front. You can use the Memories and More Cards and Envelopes, but I decided to use a regular card base. I just trimmed it to 3 5/8 x 5 1/8 to fit my card base and that gave me an extra piece to use to add a border to my greeting piece.
Read MoreToday I have another card made with a Delightfully Detailed Memories and More card. I love using these to make quick and easy cards with great patterns and colour combinations.
Read MoreI have been using the Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper recently, mostly for baby cards. You can see one of them here. This DSP is great for baby cards, but also lots of other types of cards. My card today was not for a baby, but instead S.B. (Sweet Boyfriend!). He loves sitting on the dock at the cottage just looking at all the stars and the wonder of the universe beyond us, so the DSP of a night sky with stars twinkling was perfect for him.
Read MoreI have been making some baby cards, and had one last kangaroo that I had stamped, coloured and cut sitting on my desk. Since this is Clean Up Friday, I decided that this was what I would use for a card.
Read MoreHave you checked out the Memories and More card packs in the annual catalogue? They are fantastic for memory keeping, but they also make great cards that are fast to put together, and fabulous to give!
