Summer in Canada means taking advantage of every opportunity we have to enjoy the warm weather. For anyone that lives in the city, it can also mean getting away to the lake, a cottage, camping, or anywhere that is closer to nature. Today's card reminds us that it is that time of year!
Read MoreThis week the Global Design Project has a colour challenge for us to play along with, and I love these colours! Grapefruit Grove is one of my favourite new colours, and I have used it often. It is bright and happy and goes beautifully with Fresh Fig and Mint Macaron.

Read MoreBlue is my favourite colour, although I can't choose just one shade of blue!!! I have always love Delft Blue china and plates. My parents had Delft Blue everyday dishes, and my Mom had a wall covered in all sorts of Delft Blue plates. The new In Colour Blueberry Bushel reminds me of Delft Blue, and I love it. Paired with Whisper White, it makes stunning cards. For today I have added Merry Merlot as well.

The Global Design Project challenge this week is to CASE (copy and selectively edit) the Designer, and this week it is a lovely design by Charlet Mallett. She has a beautiful card with many wonderful layers, giving us lots of elements to play with for our CASE. Today I needed to make cards for two very special people, so I decided to CASE Charlet’s card twice!
Read MoreDo you believe in love at first sight? If you are a crafter, you have probably fallen in love many times when you first saw a new craft product!! That was how I felt when I first saw the Nature's Poem Suite. The Rooted in Nature stamp set has some beautiful images of trees and leaves. The sentiment stamp Be Strong Be Happy Be You is one of my new favourites, and the coordinating Nature's Roots Framelits Dies make cutting and designing with these images super easy.
Read MoreIt is now officially summer, so it's time to relax!! It's a nice thought don't you think? I know the days can still be busy, as we head off to work or school, but the school year is almost over, and we are getting to the time where families take vacation. Even if you are planning a 'stay-cation' it is a nice time of year to relax and enjoy being outside. Let my card take you away for a little sit outside while you go through your day.
Read MoreWhen I was invited to my very first Stampin' Up! Workshop, I had no idea what to expect. While I had done crafts all my life, I had never really done any stamping, or made my own greeting cards. I really hadn't done a lot of papercrafting of any type. We made a Christmas card that was lovely, but then . . . we made a Bagalope. We turned a plain white envelope into a beautiful gift bag. . . and it was easy to do!!
Read MoreHave you played with Brusho Crystals? These are watercolour ink crystals, and they are so much fun to play with. You can sprinkle them directly on water-washed paper, or use them with an Aqua Painter to colour an image you have stamped. They are bright and fun and every time you use them you can create something different and unique. I had made a number of background pieces with my Brusho Crystals, and today my card uses one of those.
Read MoreAs a display board stamper for our recent OnStage event in London, I had the task of making samples of cards with brand new, never before seen stamp sets. I have to say, this was a new challenge for me, and one that taught me a lot. One of the stamp sets I received was very different from anything I would normally purchase or use.
Read MoreThere are 2 types of cards. Those that are very free flowing, and those that have more structure, such as rows of stamping, or repeated elements. I enjoy making both types of cards, which is why I'm so happy that it is now even easier to make structured cards with repeated elements.
Read MoreDo you ever pause and think of a good friend. What happens when you do that? For me, it puts a smile on my face. I have many wonderful friends and I love them all dearly. They are my support system, they make me laugh, they inspire me, give me sound advice, join me in my adventures, and most of them will have to be my life long friends because they know way too much about me!!! I need to keep them close so my secrets don't spill out. LOL
My card today is my entry for the International Blog Highlights for June. This is hosted by Kylie Bertucci, a demonstrator from Australia. You can see her blog and vote for my card here. The theme for this month is Friendship, and for me that means smiles. My friends always make me smile and I appreciate them every day.
As most of you know, making cards is my first love when it comes to paper crafting. Sometimes though I spend my crafting time creating scrap book pages, and I love doing that as well. My albums are a mixture of Memories and More memory keeping pocket pages, and traditional scrap book pages. I love that I can mix both in one album depending on my mood.
For my project today I am sharing one of the traditional scrap book pages I made for the OnStage display board.
The Global Design Project challenge this week is a sketch, and I decided to use a fun fold to showcase my version of this sketch. I used Falling Flowers - the stamp set, as well as the pattern for the flower placement on my card. I love how this fold gives so much dimension to the look of the card when you have it standing on display.
Read MoreMy card today is one I made for an organized swap at OnStage in April. As I have posted previously, I was a Display Board stamper for this event, so I had brand new products to play with and share with everyone that attended OnStage in London, Ontario. I wanted my card to be extra special, and one that would show other demonstrators some of the new products and give them a jump on creating their own new cards. I love the new Animal Outing stamp set and coordinating Thinlits Dies, so decided to use them for my swap card. The animals are so cute and the ones in this card are no exception!
